our vision
Black Brown + Breathing envisions resilient and engaged communities of color. Based in Chicago, we collaborate with others to foster and sustain multiracial and intergenerational communities rooted in mutual care, trauma-informed connection, and liberatory social movement. It is our hope that through this work, we co-create and maintain the capacity to build new worlds rooted in safety, transformative justice, and bodily autonomy.
our values
We believe in fostering relationships rooted in trust, mutual understanding, and effectiveness. For us, a small number of solid offerings allows us to build meaningful, long-term partnerships with greater impact.
quality over quantity
sustainability
As a queer Black femme-led initiative, BBB prioritizes sustainability and intentionality in all of our work. We consistently look to our long-term vision as our north star, allowing us to remain flexible, responsive, and supportive, creating human-centered work.
collaboration
BBB is not about re-inventing the wheel, but about determining how we can contribute to the strong, powerful communities and organizations that we work with in order to support their visions of healing, wellness, and connection.
praxis
Our approach is rooted in a cycle practice, reflection, revision, and re-implementation to ensure that we create relationships and spaces that are relevant and responsive to the needs and desires of the communities we work with.
