our work
Activations hosted in Chicagoland parks, forest preserves, and public spaces in neighborhoods throughout the city’s South & West sides, as well as virtually. Each activation features restorative justice circles, trauma informed meditation, sound healing, and collaborative art creation through painting, altar building, journaling, and movement.
community-based activations
Youth-centered healing circles started in the Fall of 2021 to assist young people and their families in adjusting back to in-person learning in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, activations continue to provide a safe space for children and teens to come together for discussion, art making and yoga classes, and to create strategies for collaborative care with their friends and loved ones.

development
Black Brown + Breathing offers trainings & facilitation for BIPOC-led organizations looking to implement healing-centered approaches to their infrastructure. Trainings are also conducted for school systems and other institutions on honoring the needs and leadership of staff, students, and community members of color.
The Black Brown & Space to Breathe initiative distributes funds for community members in need of support paying for overdue parking tickets and mental health and healing services like therapy and medical emergencies. The initiative also creates and distributes care kits for workers and housing insecure community members.
mutual aid
Circle facilitation for groups to reflect and discuss issues and topics of importance to them as a means of building community across generations, racial, faith, and gender-based identities, as well as class backgrounds. Circles take place over several sessions to foster intimacy and trust necessary to address and mediate challenges within community.
